Metal vs PVC NFC business cards: which should you choose?

Choose PVC if you want the lower price (₹999 at LynqTap) and a plastic card designed around your brand. Choose metal (₹2,499) if you want a heavier card, engraved or printed to your design, that makes an impression. Both open the same profile when tapped and carry a QR code as a backup.

These are LynqTap’s own specifications and prices. Prices are for a fully customized card with no LynqTap branding; if you let us add our branding, it comes down by ₹300 on PVC and ₹500 on metal.

What the extra ₹1,500 buys

Metal costs ₹1,500 more than PVC per card (₹1,300 more if you allow our branding). On our specifications the difference is the card itself: PVC is a plastic card with the NFC chip sealed inside, while metal is a heavier card, engraved or printed to your design.

Everything else in the table is the same, so you are not paying for a different profile, a different proof process or a different QR code. We don’t publish weight or thickness figures here, so if those matter to you, ask us on WhatsApp before you decide.

When PVC is the better choice

PVC suits you if the price matters most, or if you hand out a lot of cards. For a team, the lower price per card adds up across the whole set, and team orders are quoted as a set on WhatsApp.

You still get a card designed to your logo and colours, a proof to approve before anything is printed, and a QR code as a backup for phones that can’t read NFC.

When metal is the better choice

Metal suits you if the card itself is part of the first impression: a heavier card, engraved or printed to your design, that people notice when you hand it over.

If you are choosing one card for yourself rather than a hundred for a team, the difference of ₹1,500 is easier to justify.

What doesn't change whichever you pick

A tap on either card opens your profile in the phone’s browser, with no app to install. Your details can be changed after printing because the card stores the address of your profile, not the details themselves. The how it works page explains the tap step by step.

A quick way to decide

  • Lowest price, or ordering for a team: choose PVC.
  • One card that has to make an impression: choose metal.
  • Not sure: ask us on WhatsApp and we’ll quote both for your design.
